Notre Dame's Hidden Gem: The Parisian Restaurant You NEED to Try!
Notre Dame's Hidden Gem: The Parisian Restaurant You NEED to Try! (And a Hotel to Match… Kinda)
Okay, folks, listen up. I've stumbled upon something truly special, a Parisian restaurant that whispers romance and flavor in the same breath. It's a hidden gem, a secret I almost didn’t want to share, but hey, we're all friends here, right? But first, before we dive into the absolute deliciousness, we kinda have to talk about the hotel…and let's just say, it’s almost as good as the food. (Don't worry, I'll get back to the food. I promise.)
The Parisian Restaurant Experience: A Sensory Overload (in a Good Way!)
This isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. Think candlelight, whispers in French you almost understand, the scent of freshly baked bread mingling with the promise of something incredible… that's the vibe. The name? Well, that's classified (for now, shhh!), but its reputation is known through the food. And that food… oh, the food!
Let’s start with the important stuff. Seriously, the food. They have an A la carte in restaurant menu that’s longer than my ex's list of grievances. They have a menu for Asian breakfast, and a restaurant for Asian cuisine in restaurant. I'm not the world's biggest fan of Asian food, but I can't knock a menu option. I was told they also have Desserts in restaurant, which is always a plus in my world. I will say this: the Soup in restaurant was like a hug in a bowl on a cold night, pure comfort. And the Salad in restaurant was a work of art, so fresh I swear I could taste the Parisian sun. And don't even get me started on the Western cuisine in restaurant options - they'll give you a real taste of the old world. I think their options are so good that you could use the restaurant as a Proposal spot!
The service is impeccable, from the smiling faces to the waiters that act as if they know you. I swear that the staff even knows how to speak and use the Internet [LAN] and Internet services very well. They will even help you get some Internet access – wireless! They definitely deserve a tip. They have a Bar, and a Poolside bar, perfect for some downtime after your meal. Plus, the Coffee/tea in restaurant is just what you need to finish off a meal.
And speaking of food, they had a Breakfast [buffet] that was worth getting out of bed for. And if you're feeling lazy like I was, you can Breakfast in room! I can't speak to the Breakfast takeaway service or Alternative meal arrangement, but it's nice to know it's there.
So, that's the Good. Now, the Hotel… (Let's Call it "Almost Paris")
The hotel, well, it fits the bill. It isn’t the Louvre, but it does the job. I mean, it has Air conditioning in public area, Air conditioning, and Alarm clock, which are all basic essentials. But here's where it gets a little…interesting.
Accessibility & Safety: A Mixed Bag
On the plus side, they do have Facilities for disabled guests, and a Elevator. They have CCTV in common areas and CCTV outside property, which give me peace of mind. They even have things like Fire extinguisher and Smoke alarms, which is always a good thing! They boast Non-smoking rooms, which is appreciated. But I noticed that it was difficult to find Wheelchair accessible parts of the hotel.
Regarding Cleanliness and safety, they go above and beyond, including using Anti-viral cleaning products, doing Daily disinfection in common areas, and they have Hand sanitizer everywhere, which is reassuring. They even go as far as Room sanitization opt-out available. They have Daily housekeeping, too. They also have Staff trained in safety protocol, and that they offer to Sanitized kitchen and tableware items.
So far, so good, right?
Amenities & Services: A Little Bit of Everything (but Not Always in the Right Places)
They offer a range of services, including Airport transfer, which is super convenient. There's a Concierge, which is handy, and they have Contactless check-in/out, which is appreciated. Plus, the offer Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!
They have Car park [free of charge] and Car park [on-site], but parking in Paris is always a gamble, let’s be honest. They also offer Business facilities, which I didn't use, but good to know they're there. And they have a Laundry service, which is a lifesaver after a week of travel!
The Room: A Comfortable Cocoon (Mostly)
The room itself? Pretty standard. Air conditioning, essential. Free bottled water, always a win. They had a Coffee/tea maker, Coffee/tea in restaurant, which is great for lazy mornings. The Bathrobes and Slippers were a nice touch. The High floor and Window that opens were a welcome addition. I liked the Blackout curtains and the Desk, to help with work as well as the Internet access – wireless.
The "Meh" Moments:
- The Spa/sauna: Seemed a bit dated, and the Pool with view, and Swimming pool [outdoor] seemed to be closed for renovations.
- The Gym/fitness: Limited equipment. They offer a Fitness center, but it wasn't as appealing as the food.
- The Spa: The Body scrub was decent, but not the best I've had. And it has a Steamroom!
Getting Down to Brass Tacks: Why You Should Book This Hotel (…Maybe)
Look, the hotel isn't perfect, but the restaurant? That is perfection. And here's the thing: the hotel is convenient to the restaurant. It's a short walk, which means you can indulge in that amazing food and then stumble back to your room, a happy, slightly-tipsy mess (I speak from experience).
My Offer For You: Book Now & Get a Taste of Paris (and a Decent Bed!)
Here's the Deal: Book your stay at this hotel within the next week and get:
- A complimentary welcome drink at the restaurant (because you deserve it!).
- A guaranteed table at the restaurant (avoiding those pesky wait times).

Come on, isn’t the offer the perfect way to start your Parisian adventure? You’ll get a decent hotel and Free Wi-Fi in all rooms!, paired with an experience that’ll have you dreaming of crepes and croissants for weeks to come. What are you waiting for? Embrace the Parisian life!
Indonesian Paradise: Your 5-BR Private Pool Villa Awaits!Okay, buckle up, buttercups! Because this ain't your grandma's travel itinerary. We're diving headfirst into the glorious, messy, and unpredictable whirlwind that is a trip to Hotel Restaurant Notre Dame, France. Prepare for a schedule that's less "precise Swiss watch" and more "slightly tipsy French artist."
A Completely Unreliable (But Hopefully Entertaining!) Itinerary - Hotel Restaurant Notre Dame, France (May 2024 – Maybe?)
Day 1: Arrival – The Grand Illusion (and Potential Hangry Rage)
- 10:00 AM (ish) - Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG): Okay, so the flight was… well, let's just say a baby wouldn’t STOP kicking the back of my seat. Seriously, parental judgement level: zero. Anyways, landed. First impressions: lots of gray skies, a faint whiff of stale croissant (promise is from the duty-free shop). Praying my luggage makes it. Praying I make it. The adrenaline is pumping.
- 11:30 AM - Train to… Where was I going again? Oh, right! Amiens! Getting on a train. Hopefully, it’s the correct one. Maybe I'll learn some French phrases. "Un verre de vin rouge, s'il vous plaît" (I think that means "Give me wine, please"). Cross your fingers for me.
- 3:00 PM (ish) - Amiens Station: Success! The train didn't derail. I found the right city. Now, for the real challenge: finding a taxi that doesn't look like it just escaped a scrapyard. Pro Tip: Learn some basic French phrases NOW, because my phone will probably die the instant I rely on it.
- 4:00 PM - Hotel Restaurant Notre Dame – The Holy Grail (or at least, the bed I desperately need): Ah, the promised land! Checking in. Praying the room isn't on the seventh floor with no elevator because I can barely carry my backpack. Honestly, at this point, a bed sounds like heaven.
- 7:00 PM - Dinner at the Restaurant – The Battle of the Plates: This is the moment of truth. The Notre Dame is known for its food. My stomach is growling like a grumpy bear. Hoping for something other than "mystery meat." I'm ordering the local specialty, something called "Ficelle Picarde." I've been reading about it. Looks delicious! I'll report back. Fingers crossed it doesn't taste like sadness. (Okay, deep breath, don’t be dramatic).
- 8:30-9:00 PM - Wine, Wander, and Maybe Regret: One glass of wine ordered. One glass of wine consumed. Now that that's out of the way, I would like to enjoy the ambiance and maybe go for a short walk as the sky is a lovely color. But I may chicken out and head upstairs and binge-watch something on my phone. (Don't judge).
Day 2: Amiens – Cathedral Dreams and Croissant Crumbs
- 9:00 AM - Breakfast – The Continental Conundrum: Free breakfast, baby! Praying for fresh croissants, strong coffee, and something that isn't just white bread. I'm a simple gal with simple needs.
- 10:00 AM - Notre Dame Cathedral – Jaw-Dropping and Possibly Overwhelming: This is the main event! I am on a mission to see the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral in person. I've seen pictures; I've watched documentaries. But I am ready for the real thing. I am ready to be humbled by its grandeur, or possibly to get a crick in my neck from staring up at it for hours. (Pro Tip: bring comfy shoes).
- 12:00 PM - Lunch – The Bistrot Blitz: Finding a proper bistro nearby. Probably involve ordering a baguette, a cheese platter, and maybe, just maybe, trying to speak some French. Wish me luck.
- 2:00 PM - The Hortillonnages – A Boat Ride (and Potential Seasickness!): The floating gardens! Sounds idyllic, right? Hoping the boat doesn’t rock. If it does, I'm likely to spend the next hour throwing up.
- 4:00 PM - Stroll and Shopping - The Souvenir Scramble: A wander around the city center - hopefully finding the perfect souvenir to bring my mother. Praying for something unique and not "Made in China." And maybe a scarf for myself.
- 7:00 PM - Dinner – Second Dinner Round: Back to the restaurant at the hotel. I am hoping the food has been as good as the first night. Maybe I'll be feeling ambitious and try another new thing on the menu.
- 8:30 PM - Stargazing or Snoozefest? Depending on how tired I am (and whether the wine has kicked in), it's either a quiet night gazing at the stars or a full-blown snooze-fest. No judgment.
Day 3: Amiens – So Long, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodbye?
- 9:00 AM - Last Breakfast- Say Goodbye to the Breakfast Goodies: A repeat of yesterday.
- 10:00 AM - Last Stroll- Last chance to say, "Bonjour, Amiens!" Possibly last minute shopping.
- 12:00 AM - Check Out and Say Goodbye - The Great Escape!: Sad to go? Maybe. Ready for a change of scene? Definitely. Check out of the hotel.
- 1:00 PM - Head back home: Taking the train back to Paris. Hope I didn’t forget anything.
- 2:00 PM - Paris - I'm ready to go back. Probably a little depressed to be leaving. I'm sure something magical must have happened.
Things that May Happen (And Probably Will):
- Lost in Translation Fiascos: Guaranteed. I will butcher the French language. Expect awkward silences, confused waiters, and potentially ordering something I don’t even want.
- Over-Packing: My suitcase resembles a small house. I'll probably wear 1/3 of the clothes.
- Unexpected Delights: Discovering the most amazing pâtisserie on a random side street. Striking up a conversation with a charming local. Falling in love with something I never anticipated.
- Near-Disasters: Getting hopelessly lost. Missing a train (it's always a possibility). Accidentally offending someone with my American-ness.
- Emotional Rollercoaster: Exhaustion, elation, frustration, wonder… all in the space of a few hours. Prepare for the ride.
- The One Experience Doubled Down On: The "Ficelle Picarde" experience. Here's the thing. I'm not just going to eat it. I will conquer it. I will examine every ingredient. I will rate it on a scale of 1 to "life-altering." I will report every detail. I will wax poetic. It will be a full-on obsession. It has to be good. If it's not, well… let's just say the Notre Dame kitchen staff might want to watch their backs.
Important Notes:
- This is a suggestion. Feel free to change it, ignore it, or throw it out the window entirely. Embrace the chaos!
- I'm a complete amateur traveler. Take my advice with a giant grain of salt (and preferably a glass of wine).
- I'll update this as events unfold. Follow along if you dare… you have been warned.
- Bon voyage to me. Please wish me luck!
- P.S. Bring Tums.
